Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Camp in Peru
What Máncora Taught Us

XP wasn’t built to look perfect.

It was built to be real. Raw. Family-driven. A place to push yourself and get honest about your life.
That’s what brought us to Máncora.
If you’ve ever searched for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu camp in Peru and wondered what it actually feels like, not the highlight reel, not the filtered version, but the real thing, this is it.

Peru hit different.

The desert coast.
The wind.
The waves.

Máncora made sense

Why Máncora

Máncora sits on the northern Pacific coast of Peru in the Piura region. It’s known for its warm water, consistent surf, and steady wind, which is why surfers and kite riders from around the world pass through every year.
Tourism plays a major role in the local economy. Hospitality, guiding, instruction, restaurants, it all connects back to visitors moving through the town.
But beyond the surf reputation, there’s something deeper there.

There’s a real jiu jitsu community.

Kids training seriously. Coaches building structure. A facility built with intention, not ego.
If XP travels somewhere, it has to make sense.

Two Training Sessions Per Day
We trained twice per day

Morning session.

Evening session.

This wasn’t a vacation with mats rolled out for fun.

We brought in

High-level instruction. Real detail. No filler.

The technique started with head control and moved through a sequence of tight transitions and positional shifts. It wasn’t about big movements.
It was about pressure, angles, timing, the kind of details that separate casual training from serious development.
And what mattered most wasn’t just what was taught.

It was access.

After sessions, they stayed.

Answered questions.

Rolled more.

Broke things down again.

No ego. No rush.

We had people fly in from the United States, Brazil, Ecuador. Locals drove hours. Some came for technique. Some came to reset. Some came searching for something they couldn’t explain.

By the end of the week, everyone trained like they belonged.

That’s when a BJJ camp stops feeling like an event and starts feeling like something real.

Surf Before and After Practice

Surfer riding a wave in Peru during a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Camp in Peru experience.

We surfed before sessions.
We surfed after sessions.

And it wasn’t random.

Every novice had an experienced local instructor in the water with them. Positioning was guided. Safety was clear. Timing and wave reading were coached.

You weren’t thrown into the ocean and left to figure it out.

You were taught.

Advanced surfers moved at their own rhythm. Beginners progressed safely.

And sometimes the environment reminded you where you were.

A giant sea turtle passing below.
Whales splashing offshore while people were learning.

Máncora is epic like that.

The ocean isn’t background noise.

It’s part of the experience.

Kite Surfing
Structured for Every Level

For those who wanted more wind than waves, we structured kite surf sessions.

Professional local instructors. Equipment dialed in. Safety protocols clear.

Kite sessions were built for all levels, from beginners learning wind control for the first time, to intermediate riders progressing, to advanced kiters who just wanted to ride hard. For experienced kiters, equipment rentals were available so they could get straight into it.

The instructors made sure every level stayed safe, supported, and intentional.

Kiting in Máncora is powerful. The wind is consistent. You’re not floating, you’re flying.

If you were lucky, whales surface in the distance while you’re riding, it shifts your perspective.

Structured adventure.
Not chaos.

It was raw.
It was intense.
It was real.
And it fit the week perfectly.

The Enduro Ride — Raw Desert Energy

In between training blocks, we pushed it further.
We partnered with one of the best local racers and tour guides in Máncora for a four-hour enduro ride through the desert.
This wasn’t a beginner sightseeing tour.
You had to know how to ride.
Dust everywhere. Helmets on. Adrenaline high.
The route was wild but well thought out controlled chaos. It took us through terrain that led to natural pools hidden deep in the landscape.

Recovery Was Part of the System

Training twice per day, surfing, kiting, riding, that requires fuel.
We stayed in a luxury oceanfront house.
Not for show.

For recovery

A private chef prepared fresh Peruvian plates daily. Real ingredients. Balanced meals. Enough protein and carbohydrates to support performance and recovery.
Meals weren’t rushed.

They were part of the rhythm.

After training, everyone sat together. Conversations slowed down. The nervous system settled.
Some participants scheduled massages. Others rested by the pool. Some just sat looking at the ocean.
Recovery wasn’t an extra.

It was built in.

That’s the difference between leaving exhausted and leaving sharper.

Guardian Project Peru
Why This Matters

Part of our week included time with Guardian Project Peru.

You walk into that academy and you see kids training with focus. No distractions. No entitlement. Just work.

In towns like Máncora, where tourism shapes opportunity, youth programs like this provide structure and consistency.

Jiu jitsu becomes discipline.
Routine.
Mentorship.

When visitors train locally, hire local guides, eat local food, and partner with the academy, tourism becomes intentional.
We don’t claim to fix poverty.
But we believe in long-term partnership.

If XP runs a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu camp in Peru, it integrates with the place. It doesn’t extract from it.
Connection matters.

Watch the Full Experience

We documented the entire week.

No overproduction.

No forced speeches.

No pretending.

Just what happened.
